Terms of service

These terms govern your use of the Voltcast website and API ("the Service"). By creating an account or calling the API you accept them.

1. The Service

Voltcast provides European electricity market data, probabilistic price forecasts, optimization outputs and event webhooks via a subscription API. Plan entitlements (zones, history depth, forecast quantiles, webhook rules, rate limits) are described on the pricing page and enforced technically.

2. Accounts and API keys

You are responsible for keeping your API keys secret and for all usage under them. Revoke a key immediately from the dashboard if you suspect it is compromised. Home is the lowest plan available to new accounts. Existing Free accounts are grandfathered, remain active, and are limited to non-commercial use; paid tiers permit commercial use per your plan.

3. Forecasts are probabilistic — not advice

Forecasts are statistical estimates with quantified uncertainty and a publicly tracked error record. They are not trading, financial or operational advice, and actual prices will differ from forecasts. You are solely responsible for decisions (including automated ones) made using the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Voltcast is not liable for losses arising from reliance on data or forecasts, beyond the fees you paid us in the preceding 3 months.

4. The accuracy commitment

If, for a full calendar month, our published day-ahead forecast fails to beat the naive persistence baseline for a zone (as shown on the accuracy page), paid subscribers receive a credit for that zone for that month automatically — applied to the next invoice without any request, ticket or claim needed. This is our standing offer and it is real.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance via Stripe. Yearly plans carry the discount shown at checkout. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time from the billing portal; changes prorate per Stripe's standard rules. Prices exclude VAT, which is added at checkout based on your billing country and VAT ID. Pre-launch founding-member deposits (a retired program) remain fully refundable on request and are otherwise honored as Pro subscription credit.

6. Fair use and availability

Do not circumvent rate limits, share keys across organizations, or use the Service to build a competing raw-data redistribution product (see data licensing). Pro and Scale plans carry a 99.9% monthly uptime target on the API; the status page is the public record.

7. Changes and termination

We may update these terms with 30 days' notice to your account email. You may cancel any time; paid periods already started are not refunded except as stated above. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms, with notice where practicable.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Denmark; venue is the courts of Copenhagen, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights.

9. Provider identity

The Service is operated by WeCode A/S, Thorsgade 59, 2.sal 2200 Copenhagen, Denmark, company registration (CVR) DK37496510, Denmark. Contact: hello@voltcast.com · enterprise & procurement: sales@voltcast.com. Our data processing agreement for Scale customers is at /legal/dpa.
